The Macho Creek Ranch includes the original headquarters of the Cadena Ranch. The habitat on this ranch is outstanding due to sandy soil and three creeks that cross the ranch. The quail and deer hunting is excellent. The Macho Creek Ranch has been improved with a lot of brush work creating quail strips. The current owner built roads down the center of the quail strips to enhance the quail hunting experience. The deer hunting has been managed for about 10 years under the MLDP Conservation Option.
The ranch is very well watered. There are 7 water wells on the property with miles of PVC pipeline and strategically placed water troughs. There is also an artesian well that flows year-round into a water trough and a large lake. The ranch is cross fenced into several pastures and traps to facilitate working and rotation of the cattle. There are 4 sets of cattle pens including a large pipe set of pens at the headquarters. All the pens and water systems have been very well maintained.
There is a nice 2-bedroom brick home on the south side of the ranch. The property has about 1 mile of frontage on FM 716 on the south and another access gate on the north off of Hwy 359 between Realitos and Benavides.
